The earth and universe.

The Elements.

The five elements in Traditional Chinese Medicine and culture are Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal.

The Five Elements theory is a comprehensive approach to general health and well-being. For millennia, it has been a component of many alternative medicine practices, such as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

Just as with everything in nature the elements are interconnected. There are many branches of acupuncture and Five Elements is one of them.  In ancient China, the elements were viewed as forces of nature whose energies pass through our bodies.

Each element corresponds with different seasons, emotions, biological functions, organs, directions of energy and meridians (energetic channels). It can be used to explain and treat symptoms and illnesses when the relationships between the elements break down.

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a safe and effective system of healing which has been practised for thousands of years. It treats the whole person; addressing underlying issues, which in turn strengthens the person from the inside.

It can alleviate symptoms by stimulating the body’s own healing response, which helps to restore its natural balance.

Acupuncture can be used to restore health not only from physical illness, but also when our minds and spirits are in need.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine. Fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes.

It is used in many NHS GP practices, as well as in most pain clinics and hospices in the UK.  Acupuncture is often seen as a form of complementary or alternative medicine.
